15 January, 2021Asia’s finest integrated destination “Laguna Phuket” has announced the schedule for the 29th Laguna Phuket Triathlon, to be held on Sunday 19 November 2023. Registrations will open soon, on the 22nd February 2023 for each race designation, including full Individual and Team Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon.
Held across the famous Laguna Phuket destination race course, athletes enjoy the unique swim taking in both the Andaman Sea and fresh water lagoon. The challenging bike course includes scenic rides through the Phuket countryside and local villages, with the climax coming over the imposing Naithon hills. The run course takes in the entire Laguna Phuket destination, with the climax finish back on the stunning beachside.
To facilitate the travel for athletes and their followers, the 8 hotels in the Laguna Phuket group have joined forces to offer competitive rates. From each Laguna Phuket hotel, guests can walk or enjoy free shuttle buses and boats to the Laguna Grove race venue.
Southeast Asia’s longest running and most successful triathlon event, the Laguna Phuket Triathlon was listed as Top 8 of The World’s Greatest Tri Swims by 220 Triathlon Magazine (UK) in 2020. LPT has also been ranked 5th on the 10 Best Triathlons in the World list, by Let’s Do This (UK). Laguna Phuket destination has been named an Honourable Contributor in Sports and Exercise, by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ Department of Physical Education (DPE) in 2019.
This year we are giving cash prizes to all amateur Thai and non-Thai athletes who want to compete against the pros. If you want to compete with the pros, during the registration process, you have to select the Elite Category and not the age group category.
